Located in Manchester, MA, this home required WKD’s interior architectural design and interior design/decorative services. The original front structure was renovated and restored including four original fireplaces and mantels and all architectural trim, while the addition to the back of the house was reconfigured to accommodate the design of a new kitchen and stair to the second floor, powder room and master bath design. The hearth room fireplace had been previously demolished. A new hearth and mantel were designed in the spirit of the room. WKD continues to work with the client on the selection of all decorative lighting, furniture, fabrics, rugs, drapery, artwork and accessories.

Overlooking the Ipswich Great Marsh toward the Atlantic Ocean, WKD is assisting the owners of this 1670 antique colonial with furniture layouts, powder room design, determining how and where to place existing family heirlooms and artwork and coordinating that with the selection of new decorative lighting, paint finishes, furniture, fabrics, drapery, artwork and accessories.

Situated in the western Boston suburbs, this beautiful Colonial-era home needed an addition to make it more family-friendly. We worked in tandem with an architect to help design the addition “from the inside out” – one of our favorite things to do. Our clients wanted to make sure the feeling of their 1780’s home came through in the details of the addition, so we designed the new fireplace surround and entertainment area millwork in a traditional raised panel style, while incorporating needed storage. As the addition was completed, our clients then asked for more interior design services, which went on to include the selection of all furniture, fabrics, finishes and accessories.

Great design on a limited budget yielded a sense of carefree fun. Prepared in just a few months, using carefully considered colors, mainstream catalog furniture and strategic design advice, this weekend retreat caused the client to write us, “People LOVE IT. We LOVE IT. You must come up and take a bow.” This Boston North Shore cottage shows the importance of design skill, even more so when funds are limited.

Of all the interior design firms in Boston, we felt privileged to be selected to help transform this Back Bay condo overlooking Commonwealth Avenue. Our clients were downsizing from a large house in the suburbs and embracing a new city lifestyle. Most of their previous furnishing were unsuited to the scale and look of their new home, so we helped with all of the interior decoration decisions necessary to make it their own – simple, elegant, uncluttered, and comfortable.

For this North Shore estate, a former 1907 stable and carriage house, we provided both the interior architectural design for a complete renovation, as well as interior design and interior decorating services. This 5,600 s.f. condo was completely transformed from a 1980’s developer package into a stylish, upscale home with significant European panache. We not only added all of the architectural details and cabinetry, but selected furniture, fabrics, accessories and artwork. This project has received numerous awards and has thus far been published in two magazines.
