The husband and wife team of John Kelsey and Sally Wilson, ASID, began working together 30 years ago at a large architectural office. They formed WKD and formalized their office in 1996.
Wilson Kelsey Design is an award winning residential and commercial interior design firm serving upscale clients in Greater Boston and beyond. Our clients value us for our creativity, fastidious attention to detail, regardless of scope or budget, and our ability to read, understand and anticipate their functional/emotional needs and aesthetic vision.
Our range of services spans initial design ideas through project completion for new construction, renovations, or home decor. The husband-and-wife team of John Kelsey and Sally Wilson co-founded the firm in 1996. John and Sally pride themselves in taking care of the smallest detail, from project conception to completion. With a warm and approachable work style, they make the design process an enjoyable and memorable experience. And the experience along the way is just as important and the end result.
Sally Wilson, ASID
A native of Memphis, Tenn., Sally holds a bachelor of arts (major in English literature, minor in art history) from Northwestern University and a bachelor of interior designfrom the University of Florida’s College of Architecture. She has studied art and architecture in Europe as well as the decorative arts at the prestigious Winterthur Museum in Delaware.
Sally has an impressive breadth of knowledge of both fine-quality residential interiors and commercial design. The residential design work she specializes in now showcases her unerring sense of color and her ability to successfully combine patterns and textures, in a manner that brings a room to life. She is an active Professional Member of ASID and recently completed two terms on the Board of Directors for the New England Chapter. She has her certification from the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ). Sally has given many lectures, has taught design at the college level, and has appeared on TV several times.
John Kelsey
Born and raised in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York, John holds a bachelor of science (major in human development & family studies, minor in design) from Cornell University. He continued his design training at the Boston Architectural Center and has been certified by the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) since 1980.
John is a superb spatial thinker and problem solver. Coupled with his ability to prepare wonderful 3 dimensional sketches, he is able to help clients visualize their home during the design process. He has a rare knack for asking questions and provoking answers that reveal the client’s personality, tastes, quirks and even foibles. Respected by contractors for the thoroughness of his drawings, and understanding of the construction process, he knows what it takes to maintain a sense of calm and keep the project moving forward when questions arise during construction.
